A high-level Federal Government delegation visited Yobe State on Friday to express sympathy and solidarity following the recent insurgent attack on the Mafa community.
The delegation, led by the Minister of Finance, Mr Wale Edun, conveyed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s message of condolence to the government and people of Yobe.
In a statement signed by the Director General of Media and Press Affairs to the Governor, Mamman Mohammed, Edun stressed that the security of lives and property remains
a top priority for the Tinubu administration.
“The government is committed to revamping the economy and attracting both local and foreign investors to create job opportunities for Nigerians,” Mr Edun stated.
Also present was the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, who assured that the end of terrorism and banditry in Nigeria is imminent. He praised the military and other security agencies for their relentless efforts in combating terrorism in the Northeast and other criminal activities across the country.
“The security agencies have been exemplary, making significant sacrifices to safeguard lives and property. What we are witnessing now is the beginning of the end; it is only a matter of time before the entire country is secured,” Malam Ribadu assured.
In his response, the state governor, Mala Buni, expressed his gratitude for the visit, noting that it gave the people of Yobe State a sense of belonging.
Buni commended Tinubu for his leadership during challenging times.
“The government and people of Yobe State appreciate this visit and the sense of solidarity it brings. We are committed to supporting the federal government in achieving its developmental goals,” Governor Buni affirmed.
