Gunmen suspected to be armed bandits, on Saturday, ambushed troops of the Nigerian Army in Gudu Local Government Area of Sokoto State, killing four soldiers in the process. The sole administrator of the council, Umar Balle, disclosed this on Sunday while speaking with our correspondent in a telephone conversation. Local media said homes, people and livestock were engulfed in mountains of waste at the landfill in the northern Kampala district of Kiteezi on Saturday after a collapse caused by heavy downpours. No fewer than three persons have been reportedly abducted along the Nkpologwu-Akpo Road, Nkpologwu, in Aguata Local Government Area of the Anambra State by unidentified assailants.
