The Kano State Government, on Sunday, donated N100 million to support victims of the recent flood disaster that ravaged Borno State.
The cheque for the donation was presented to the Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, by Governor Abba Yusuf’s representatives, including the State Commissioner for Information, Baba Dantiye, and the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Eradication, Amina Sani.
This was disclosed in a press statement by the Director of Special Duties, Ministry of Information and Internal Affairs, Sani Yola.
Yusuf highlighted the longstanding, brotherly, and cordial relationship between Kano and Borno States.
The statement read: “Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf expressed deep sympathy for the victims, describing the disaster as a catastrophic humanitarian crisis and calling for widespread support for the affected people.”
The statement added that the governor emphasised that such disasters require collective assistance, reaffirming that Kano State stands in solidarity with Borno State.
He prayed for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives in the flood and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
