The Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has ordered the immediate commencement of work to restore the electricity supply at the State-owned institution, Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina
The PUNCH learnt that N300m was approved for the two separate electricity projects in the university.
The Secretary to the Government of the State, Abdullahi Faskari disclosed this in a statement signed by his Director of Press, Abdullahi Yar’adua, and made available to the PUNCH on Saturday in Katsina.
The statement read, “Sequel to that, the Governor had approved the immediate release of the sum of Three Hundred and Fourteen Million, Six Hundred and Five Thousand, Five Hundred and Fifty Naira for two separate electricity projects in the University.
“Firstly, the replacement of 33KVA indoor control panel and other accessories which supply power to the school at the cost of Two Hundred and Sixteen Million, Three Hundred and Fifty-Eight Thousand, Nine Hundred and One Naira.
It added, “Secondly, the installation of solar security lights awarded at the cost of Ninety Eight Million, Two Hundred and Forty-Six Thousand, Six Hundred and Forty-Nine Naira to address incidents of vandalism and insecurity in the University.”
